OnePlus is gearing up to expand its latest flagship lineup in India. After unveiling the OnePlus 15, the company has now teased a new smartphone — likely the OnePlus 15R — which appears ready to join the series very soon. While OnePlus hasn’t officially confirmed the name, all signs point toward this handset being the global counterpart of either the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 6 or the rumoured Ace 6T.
OnePlus 15R India Launch Teased
A new microsite on the OnePlus India website quietly went live, showcasing the upcoming device with the familiar tagline: “Power On. Limits Off.” Although the brand has not revealed the launch date yet, its status marked as “Coming Soon” confirms that the launch isn’t far away.
The teaser shows the phone in two colour variants — black and green. The design includes a dual rear camera setup, vertically aligned and placed inside a square camera module, which gives it a clean and balanced look. The aesthetic feels inspired by the flagship OnePlus 15, suggesting the company is aiming for a unified design language across its lineup.
Interestingly, this marks a shift from the previous OnePlus 13R, which featured a triple-camera system. The move to a dual-camera setup could be a strategic change to differentiate the 15R from the premium models, or it may reflect redesigned internal priorities—such as battery size or thermals.
Design and Buttons
The teaser also hints at the placement of the buttons. Both the power and volume keys seem to be positioned on the right side, while the Plus Key—introduced recently on the OnePlus 13s and OnePlus 15—may sit on the left. This multifunction key can be customised for up to eight different actions, making it one of the more practical design additions from OnePlus in recent years.
OnePlus 15R Expected Specifications
While OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the specifications yet, several leaks and industry reports have painted a fairly detailed picture of what to expect.
Display
The OnePlus 15R is tipped to sport a 6.7-inch OLED display, offering a sharp 1.5K resolution along with a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. If true, this would make it one of the most fluid and responsive displays in the segment.
Performance
Under the hood, the smartphone is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship chipset that hasn’t been officially announced yet. Early reports suggest the phone could feature:
- Up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM
- Up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage
This combination would place the OnePlus 15R among the fastest phones in its category.
Cameras
The camera setup on the OnePlus 15R is expected to include:
- 50MP primary sensor with OIS
- 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens
While it’s fewer cameras compared to its predecessor, OnePlus may be focusing on improving sensor quality and real-world performance rather than simply increasing the number of lenses.
Battery and Charging
One of the most exciting rumours points to a massive 8,000mAh battery, significantly larger than what we typically see on OnePlus devices. It is expected to support 100W fast charging, promising a mix of long endurance and quick top-ups—ideal for power users and gamers.
Final Thoughts
With the teaser now live, the OnePlus 15R seems poised to bring a compelling mix of flagship-grade performance, clean aesthetics, and possibly one of the biggest batteries we’ve seen from the brand. If the rumours hold true, the device may serve as a more affordable yet powerful alternative to the main OnePlus 15.
As we wait for an official launch date, excitement is steadily building. Given OnePlus’ recent streak of strong releases, the 15R could very well be another hit for the Indian market.
